September Wrap-Up

September was, unfortunately, a month filled with disappointment. I was off on such a good start. I was smashing books left and right in the first two weeks…but then…I moved house.

Moving house has been so time-consuming and exhausting that finding time to read was super hard. Not only because I was too tired to read but also the probable scrutiny from my parents if they saw me doing it that I was constantly paranoid about (“what are you doing? why shouldn’t you be helping to pack/unpack?”). They probably wouldn’t say that…but I’m never sure.

I tried my best, I really did. This reading month wasn’t at all horrible per se, I am really proud of how much I read – it’s more so that inner feeling of annoyance at how much I could’ve read, had I not been packing said books and losing track of where the ones I was reading were (also thank you Scribd for giving me ebooks on the go).

Anyway, here are my September reading stats:

Books Read: 7

Total Pages: 2,749 pages

Books That I Read:

The Universe is Expanding and So Am I by Carolyn Mackler

☆(3.5/5) | REVIEW

Warcross by Marie Lu

★★(5/5) | REVIEW

Wildcard by Marie Lu

★★(5/5) | REVIEW

After the Lights Go Out by Lili Wilkinson

★★(5/5) | REVIEW

Strange the Dreamer by Laini Taylor

★★(5/5) | lol it’s my favourite book I’m not reviewing it

Muse of Nightmares by Laini Taylor

★★(5/5) | RTC (closer to publication date – it is now my second favourite book)

Open Road Summer by Emery Lord

★☆(4/5) | RTC (perhaps…tomorrow 🙂 )

Overall in terms of what I read, I had an awesome reading month. I reread two favourites and then read their sequels and read some really enjoyable contemporaries. The standouts were, of course, Wildcard and Muse, and I’m just super happy that my reviews are up to date with what I read. For so long I read the wrap-ups of other bloggers where they can link what they read that month to their review and to be able to do it on my own wrap-up post just gives me moonbeams of happiness.

I am planning on writing more reviews for books I’ve read like Muse, Open Summer Road and for books I’m currently reading once I’ve finished them. I don’t know about you guys but for me, I’d like my blog to be filled with reviews because I know that they can have such an impact and recommendations are actually amazing. As much as fun posts and tags are, I like to think of my blog as the home to my book reviews.

I am currently reading:

Nevernight by Jay Kristoff (reread)

Queen of Shadows by Sarah J. Maas (reread)

This Mortal Coil by Emily Suvada (buddy read with The Bookish King)

I hope you enjoyed reading my rambles and seeing what I read in the month of September. Now that I’ve moved house and my semester ends super soon, I’m looking forward to a few productive reading months this Spring.

I’m also super elated to have my bookshelves up and organised. I posted up a timelapse of me organising them on my Instagram account if you’re interested. I’m planning on doing a book tour on there as well, would you like to see a tour on this blog too?

Until next time,

xx Tracy
