The Bookish Prediction Tag

It is such a nice day in the first week of Autumn in Melbourne, and today I thought I’d bring you a book tag! I don’t do these very often, although I really should. I wasn’t tagged to do this one in particular but I did read Chana & Malka’s answers to the tag on their blog, Paper Procrastinators, and thought, let’s do this one. Why not?

Originally created by Book Princess Reviews, this tag is all about making predictions and I really hope my answers turn out to be true! Let’s get into it 🙂

What is your next read?

54789601. SX318 - The Bookish Prediction Tag

Before I dive back into another big fantasy book (aka The Mask Falling by Samantha Shannon), I recently bought myself a copy of The Midnight Library! I don’t know much about this book but I’ve been seeing people all over Instagram give it 5 stars, and it is apparently a really thought-provoking book (I love those). So I think this is my next read!

What do you think will be your next 5-star read?

52185490. SY475 - The Bookish Prediction Tag

I don’t know if I should put The Mask Falling on such a high pedestal but I expect myself to love it – especially since it is many people’s favourite book in the series so far; including the author’s!

What do you think will be your next 1-star read?

22910900 - The Bookish Prediction Tag

I have had ‘The Rest of Us Just Live Here’ on my bookshelves for years now and while I don’t give 1-star ratings very often, I do find that Patrick Ness’ books are either a hit or a miss for me. I’m thinking of picking this up soon either on audio or with my physical copy. Fingers crossed it isn’t a 1 star but it wouldn’t surprise me if I didn’t enjoy this one as much as I expect. If not this one, I’d then say perhaps Sorcery of Thorns as pictured in the feature image above, because I DNFed it the first time so I will give it another try to finish it but that doesn’t mean I’ll necessarily like it.

Who will be your next love interest (or character that seems really cool to you)?

I am still highly anticipating my read of Chain of Gold this year, so I’m going to guess that the next character I love is Cordelia Carstairs. I love the Carstairs family so I really hope she’s another fav for me.

What will be the next book you’ll be buying?

51029810. SY475 - The Bookish Prediction Tag

I still haven’t gotten around to reading or buying a copy of Addie Larue but I think this is the next book I’ll be aiming to get. It all depends on my local bookstore and when I’ll let myself buy another thick book like this one!

What will be the next book that will leave you with a complete book hangover (and desperately wanting a reread or the next book in the series)?

6547258 - The Bookish Prediction Tag

I’ve heard so many amazing things about Brandon Sanderson’s Mistborn trilogy and the books have been waiting forever for me. I have a really good feeling that when I finish the first, I’ll be dying to begin the next book asap to continue the story!

What did you think of my answers? Do you know what your next read or at least your next predicted 5-star read will be?

For this tag, I’ll be tagging Noura from The Perks of Being Noura & Jenna from Bookmark Your Thoughts <3 However, if you like this tag, consider yourself tagged too!

Until next time,

I can confirm that the Mistborn trilogy is a book hangover waiting to happen. Admittedly, it took about 3 months to read all three books, but when I was finished I was just at a loss with myself. To this day I still think about the characters. I’m really excited to read what you think of The Midnight Library. The concept sounds like something I’d enjoy, so I’m keeping my eye on that book. 😀

Ah I knew it! I’m glad to hear you loved it even if it took a while to read them haha they are very thick! I’m so keen to read The Midnight Library, I’m about to pick it up today 🙂

Omg hahaha I have started it so far and it is…interesting that’s for sure. We’ll see if I DNF it haha

I’m about halfway so far and it is really good, really interesting but not for the faint-hearted because it deals with a lot of heavy stuff.

I’m so glad you decided to do this tag! And since I’m getting to this post super late anyways, I’m curious if any of your predictions were correct! Also, if you’ve read The Midnight Library, did you enjoy it? I have it on my TBR and I’m curious to know what people thought of it. So far I’ve only heard good things!

    • Tracy

Hi Malka! Thank you 🙂 some of my predictions WERE correct; I loved the midnight library and the mask falling (both have reviews I think?), and I did not like the Patrick ness book either. although I still haven’t gotten my copy of addie larue!
