I’ve been really motivated and in the mood for blogging today but didn’t really know what to blog about…so I thought I might to chat about what I’m reading, what my current favourites are and see what you guys are reading! I recently recreated my home office space for work, studying and blogging and it’s really inspired me. I’m in love with it (see picture above) and I can’t wait to be more productive.
Let’s get onto the ‘currents’!
Current Read:
I’m currently in the middle of The Final Empire by Brandon Sanderson. I’ve been reading this book for like a month, and I’ve been so slow. I’m not sure whether it’s because of my schedule or because it’s intimidating but I’m slowly getting there! It’s part of my Breathofthewildathon TBR so I’m determined to finish it this week!
Current Favourite Tea:
I had my first tea in a loooong time the other day, because I generally tend to have coffees in the morning now. I loved the tea and it was almost bittersweet because I don’t have many packets of it left. I was drinking this Christmas Tea from T2 which you can’t buy anymore. I’m hoping that I’ll be able to find an equivalent – it just has the nicest blend of cinnamon-y taste with the black tea and it makes me feel so cosy.
Current Favourite Candle:
If you know me, then you know I love candles! Lately, I’ve been using a wax melt burner I got from Kmart a long time ago to burn wax melts I got for my birthday in July. My current fragrance is Lemongrass Zest and it makes our living room smell so nice and fresh. I wonder how often I can burn it until it doesn’t work anymore…
Current Favourite TV Show:
The only TV show I’m regularly watching is Girls Planet 999 on iQIYI. KPOP is kind of 90% of what I listen to so I’ve been obsessed with this show, which is a reality show to create a new KPOP girl group. I watched the previous ‘season’ or rendition of this show in 2018 which unfortunately got in a huge scandal over the rigging of contestants who won (which I knew because my favourite contestant didn’t make it), so I hope this season is rig-free but I’m already disappointed that my ultimate favourite has been eliminated in the last round support Kim Hye Rim!).
When I’m not watching the weekly 2 hour episodes, I’ll be watching W: Two Worlds Apart (a cute K-Drama) or the latest episodes of Explained (a Vox documentary) on Netflix.
Current BookTubers I’m Watching:
I really fell off the BookTube content algorithm in the last few months, and I haven’t been active on Instagram so I don’t really what new books are coming out and what’s going on in the broader community but when I do watch BookTube occasionally, I’ve been going to back some favourites like OliviaReadsALatte, Becklebooks (who is super underrated) and Peruse Project. I’ve really been enjoying videos that just celebrate reading books and chill reading vlogs. I’m not finding enjoyment in watching huge hauls and videos that can sometimes incite FOMO or my ever-present cravings to buy books that I won’t read anytime soon.
I have also been getting back on the language learning hobby which had been put on pause for 6 months, and part of that has made me look for German BookTubers to practice my listening and increase my vocabulary. One of the German BookTubers I’ve enjoyed content from so far has been Joana June. Her aesthetic is so elegant, minimalist and even if I can’t understand what she’s saying at times, I’m enjoying it!
And, I think that’s all the ‘Currents’ I can talk about for now. Let me know what you’re currently reading and what your current favourites are! I’ve definitely missed the book community in the time I’ve distanced myself from it on social media and I know that bloggers have always been the kindest and most supportive. I hope that you’re all doing okay, despite world things happening and that you’re safe and well.
Until next time,

I’ve also been super out of the book community, I have no idea what books are coming out or anything but I want to get back into it. Right now I’m reading Dune because I wanted to finish before watching the movie. It’s taking me a long time, I need to finish it already! Hope you are having a good beginning of the month!
Tracy
Thank you for stopping by! I hope you managed to finish Dune, I’ve only heard good things about it and the movie coming sounds so exciting. I definitely agree in not knowing what’s coming out or anything!! Welcome to the out of touch in the book community club haha

It’s interesting because even though I’ve been posting pretty consistently on the blog, I’ve definitely been doing more booktube watching than blog hopping! Some of my booktube faves are Jesse from Bowties & Books, Smriti from Sant Reads, and Mara from bookslikwhoa!

I tend to go in waves where some months I’ll watch heaps and some months I won’t even touch BookTube! Right now I’m barely watching it again but I should be blog hopping more…

W is such a cute kdrama, the chemistry between the leads and the plot are just incredible! I also love Peruse Project, she’s one of my favorite booktubers!
Tracy
It is! I binge-watched the last half of W and the leads had such amazing chemistry. Glad that you enjoy Reagan’s content too 🙂

I feel so out of the loop with the blogging community since I took a random three month hiatus over the summer. I love the idea of this post. I’ve recently become addicted to chai tea. There’s something so comforting about that tea and so fitting for this time of year. I hope you enjot The Final Empire. It took me ages to read that book too, but it was worth it in the end. I can’t wait to hear what you think of it.

I’ve taken so many hiatus in the book community over the last few years that it’s become the norm for me to not know what’s going on haha, I’m so glad you enjoyed this post <3 I actually want to try chai tea, I've heard a lot about it recently too. I managed to finish the Final Empire FINALLY and it was 100% worth it towards the end, I agree :) Thank you for stopping by!
