1 Sentence Reviews – All the Books I Read in 2022 Part 2

Happy New Year everyone! It’s crazy that we’re already in 2023, but I’m honestly so happy about it. Although I had many positives in 2022, I also had some lows that I’d love to forget! I really enjoyed doing the 1 sentence reviews in September when I came back to blogging and it’s actually crazy that I read more in the last 4 months than I did when I last wrote that blog post. I’m super happy to have ended with 55 books read in 2022. Without much further ado, here are the rest of the books I read last year, summed up and reviewed in one sentence. NOTE: I…

Some Recent 5 Star Reads | Mini Reviews

It’s crazy how much I’ve read in the last 3 months alone, especially since I started working in publishing (and have mostly forgone any gaming or streaming for reading as it’s been bringing my heart the most joy). It’s been so fun acquiring and reading more books and I’ve found a few 5-star reads that are definitely worth mentioning. Disclaimer: I am currently working at Hachette Australia, so some of these books, which I received through work will likely be a bit more biased, but I still loved these books regardless! The Invisible Life of Addie Larue by V.E. Schwab I read this book during the Breath of the Wildathon…

1 Sentence Reviews – All the Books I’ve Read in 2022 so far

Hi! It’s been a while haha! I almost didn’t expect myself to blog again – 2022 has so far been so hectic but until recently, I’ve finally had a decent break to focus on myself and something I began craving was to write for enjoyment again. I’ve actually been reading a lot more lately and having a lot of fun and passion for books after what felt like a drought.  I thought I’d get back into the game with some easy 1-sentence reviews of all the books I’ve read so far this year. I hope you enjoy reading this as much as I enjoyed writing them! Conversations on Love by…

    Recent Reads | Mini-Reviews & A Surprise Favourite

Since 2020 ended on a rather busy note, I never ended up doing mini-reviews for some of the books I read in the last quarter. So, today I’m catching up! I’m always a fan of the BookTuber recent reads videos so I thought I’d do a blog post with a few mini-reviews of some of my recent reads myself. Let me know if you prefer these kinds of blog posts over in-depth reviews too! In this one, I’ll be trying to keep them short and sweet. To avoid having to spiel the synopsis, please click on the book cover to be redirected to the Goodreads page 🙂 Please note: since…

Helena by Claire L. Smith Book Mini-Review | Short & Spooky Novella

I haven’t done a mini-review in a while and I thought it would be perfect to bring it back to chat about a gothic horror novella written by my friend and now debut author, Claire L. Smith. We actually went to University together and I have been feeling so proud of her and this achievement. It was even better when I picked up her book and absolutely loved it! It was a perfect spooky pick for October. Permanent Record by Mary H.K. Choi Mini-Review

I recently picked up this gorgeous book with optimism when Amazon had a great deal for the paperback edition. I had previously read Emergency Contact last year and thought it was pretty enjoyable so I was desperately hoping this would be another good book and perhaps even better. I’m incredibly proud that this review will also be featured on the October edition of Books Etc Magazine, a bookish magazine created by my bookstagrammer friend Jayse. It’s an Australian magazine all about books, with book reviews, author interviews and bookstragram tips. You can find their latest September edition here! A Dish of Mini-Reviews: YA & Romance

While I was on hiatus, basically a pile of books I meant to review began to appear and just grow bigger. So, to catch up on sharing my thoughts on these novels – I’ve compiled a dish full of mini-reviews for these reads. Let us begin! The Unhoneymooners by Christina Lauren Rating: ★★★★☆(4/5) After reading Autoboyography, I had a pretty good feeling that I’d enjoy another novel from Christina Lauren. This novel turned out to be incredibly enjoyable with such a cute plot and the best romance I’ve read since my last Helen Hoang read. This was so cute and so well written, I highly recommend this to any romance…

Graphic Novel Bonanza | Mini-Reviews & First Impressions

In the last month or so, I have been amazed by how many graphic novels I’ve been reading. I usually don’t read too many graphic novels at all but recently, ever since I seriously started going to my local library; I finally borrowed a bunch I’ve been wanting to get to. The primary reason why I don’t usually read many graphic novels or comics is that they’re quite expensive. Although I appreciate that they’re the same price as traditional books because it takes so much time to create the art, I’ve never found a graphic novel with a style I love so much to keep or one that seems worth…

    Life on the Leash Mini-Review

~~HOW CUTE DOES MY KITTY LOOK HERE HAHAHAHA ~~ When this book turned up, I literally had no excuses to read it as soon as I could because I was in a serious mood for some contemporary romance and animals can always make your day better. Little did I know this book would have me on the brink of CRYING. Yes, animals make us sad too. Because it’s been a while since I read this book but I do have some awesome general thoughts on it, today I bring you a mini-review 😀 (let’s be honest, my normal reviews are like essays, yes I’m sorry…not sorry).   Goodreads Blurb:  …
