My Spring TBR – What Books I’m Looking Forward To Reading Next

I’m so happy that it’s finally spring! I used to be such a winter bug, enjoying the cold weather but this year, winter was just a bit much, and I’ve been loving the rays of sunshine and being able to comfortably sit and read a book without cranking on the heater before my toes are numb. With that, I’m also almost done with my reading challenge which is super exciting! So my spring tbr is very much, the next few books I’d love to get to in the next month or so (and it’s also a bit of a mini-haul as these are newer books!). I’ve found myself enjoying book…

Everything Feels Like the End of the World by Else Fitzgerald Book Review

When this book arrived at my doorstep, I was immediately intrigued – not because I had recently been struggling with my mental health and everything did feel like the end of the world for a hot minute, but because I rarely get sent books from publishers and the cover looked so cheerful despite its slightly grim title. A huge thanks to Allen & Unwin Australia for sending a review copy of this novel my way – let’s get onto the review! Book Description: Everything Feels Like the End of the World is a collection of short speculative fiction exploring possible futures from an Australia not so different from our present day…

1 Sentence Reviews – All the Books I’ve Read in 2022 so far

Hi! It’s been a while haha! I almost didn’t expect myself to blog again – 2022 has so far been so hectic but until recently, I’ve finally had a decent break to focus on myself and something I began craving was to write for enjoyment again. I’ve actually been reading a lot more lately and having a lot of fun and passion for books after what felt like a drought.  I thought I’d get back into the game with some easy 1-sentence reviews of all the books I’ve read so far this year. I hope you enjoy reading this as much as I enjoyed writing them! Conversations on Love by…

My 2022 Reading Bullet Journal Spreads

It’s been a wild journey in 2021 and it pleases me to say that I’m back into bullet journaling after a year’s break! Although it isn’t going to be a full-on, month to month bullet journal like that of my 2020 journal, I’ve decided to go back to bullet journaling to motivate myself and keep track of my reading! It’s really cool to see reading journals get more and more popular, and I noticed that with my busy schedule, how days can figuratively fly by and I have completely forgotten to pick up a book or take some time for myself. I reinvigorated my love for planning, went on a…

Goodreads Awards Nominated Books I’m Adding to My TBR

As it happens every year, the Goodreads awards have been announced and I almost didn’t even get a vote because I barely go on Goodreads anymore! I managed to vote in the last 2 rounds and since I didn’t read as much as I did last year, many of the titles were strangers to me. It was a bit sad but it also made me excited to see what books I could get into next year! I watched a few booktubers who went through some of the nominees and found myself really keen to read more Romance like I’ve been wanting to for ages and like I said in my…

Dial A for Aunties by Jesse Sutanto Book Review

A recent release from this year, this book jumped out at me at the book store because of its funky pop-art inspired cover and it had an interesting blurb that sounded like a light read I might enjoy so I started reading it – but then put it down at 50 pages for another book. Fast track a month or so, I picked it up again and managed to finish it in like 2 days! Thought I’d write a little review to explain my thoughts. Goodreads Blurb: When Meddelin Chan ends up accidentally killing her blind date, her meddlesome mother calls for her even more meddlesome aunties to help get…

November Wrap Up & Currently Reading: I’ve Caught the Non-Fiction Bug

I still can’t believe how fast November went by! Work was extremely busy since it was essentially the big month for online shopping (I work in marketing) so Black Friday, Cyber Monday – every sale that happens for Christmas, took away a lot of my time and energy. I managed to read 2 books this month and I happily reduced my Goodreads goal from 50 to 30 so it was more achievable with my current schedule. November Wrap Up In November, I read the following books: When We Entered That House by Claire L Smith3.5/5 StarsThis is the second novel from one of my best friends IRL and I really…

10 Positive Affirmations: The Bookworm Edition

I feel like affirmations have become super popular amongst my friends and online. Almost every day I’ll see or hear someone saying “I’m manifesting” this or that and sharing their positive affirmations about life and themselves. So, I thought it would be a fun post to a bookworm version! Note: this is all in fun and gest, but I hope you enjoy them for what they represent – the unity of shared experiences many bookworms around the world have together. I will not succumb to the pretty cover and buy more books I will not read until 2025. I can finish this book even though Netflix is calling my name.…

Chit Chat Monday: My October Wrap-Up, November TBR & Reading Goals

Welcome to another Monday chit chat post! I had planned to do this last week but work and life were so incredibly hectic now that Melbourne is finally out of lockdown and I didn’t have much time to do anything blog or even reading-related. I swapped out reading for TV I found myself watching Buzzfeed Unsolved, Terrace House and the new LoL inspired series Arcane on Netflix to relax because of my crazy schedule in the last week. As a League of Legends player, it was a huge event that took the majority of my Sunday. We watched all 3 episodes that are now currently available and I can confirm…

The Heart Principle by Helen Hoang Book Review

If you’ve read my previous reviews of books by Helen Hoang like The Kiss Quotient and The Bride Test, you’ll know that I absolutely love this series. I’m not sure if you could really call it a series but all the books are in the same world and we see previous book characters in sequels and it’s just so wholesome! I love books that do this and I’ve absolutely loved Helen’s writing so far so I was super excited to get my hands on this book. Truth be told, I actually completely forgot about it until the week before the release date but then Amazon took 3 weeks to deliver…
