It’s that time of the year, when I’m cramming to read as many books as possible before we tick over to January 1st. Although I have completed my Goodreads Reading Challenge of 30 books (yay!), I want to get my TBR down as much as possible, especially since I need to read so much more for work now (the publishing life!). I don’t have any holidays planned and I’ll have 10 days for the holiday season, so I’m ready to read the following new books and old favourites before 2023. New Books Cytonic by Brandon Sanderson I loved the first two books of the Skyward series and it’s a bit…
My Spring TBR – What Books I’m Looking Forward To Reading Next
I’m so happy that it’s finally spring! I used to be such a winter bug, enjoying the cold weather but this year, winter was just a bit much, and I’ve been loving the rays of sunshine and being able to comfortably sit and read a book without cranking on the heater before my toes are numb. With that, I’m also almost done with my reading challenge which is super exciting! So my spring tbr is very much, the next few books I’d love to get to in the next month or so (and it’s also a bit of a mini-haul as these are newer books!). I’ve found myself enjoying book…
My Breath of the Wildathon TBR
Another readathon – another challenge! This one, I simply had to join. I have been doing some reading streams with the lovely Little Book Owl, who co-founded the Breath of The Wildathon – AND since I’ve actually been reading so much more (3 books so far this month! and essentially completed the 2 books for the Magical Readathon), I thought ‘why not?’. This readathon is particularly fun as there are perks, there is a special map, there is a Blood Mood card that randomly generates a prompt for you. It’s all very exciting. There are a few teams with different perks and you can learn all about it on the…
Magical Readathon: Orilium 2021 TBR
Hello friends! It’s been a while. I took a bit of time off from blogging due to many personal life changes, working a lot, and because I’ve honestly been having lots of fun gaming and streaming over on my Twitch channel. It’s been really great to hang out with friends, play games to wind down after work but as reading is my OG hobby, I’m finally getting back into reading and blogging. I honestly barely read in August and didn’t finish a book. I’m in the middle of one now which will count towards this month’s TBR. I’m still in lockdown in Melbourne and I’m soon starting a new job,…
February Wrap-Up & March TBR
I can’t believe we’re already 2 months into 2021! February was another slightly slow month for me but I’m getting back up on my feet when it comes to reading and I couldn’t be more excited for what March has in store for me. March is going to be super busy too! Let’s get into what I read ~ What I Read In February I did it! Although I only read 3 books again this month, I reached my goal of finishing the All Souls trilogy – which are thick books! So I’m really proud of myself for that, especially since I’m still in a bit of a slump. I…
December & 2020 Wrap-Up, 2021 Goals + January/Summerween TBR
As I mentioned in my latest life update, the excruciating lockdown Melbourne was in for over 2 months finally ended and I had to let myself relax because socialising was a thing again! Not to mention that the Christmas season is insane when you have a big family. So I didn’t read much in December but I’m overall super proud of myself for my reading this year. Even if blogging took a back-burner sometimes, I don’t feel bad about it either and something 2020 taught me is to let go and enjoy reading and blogging for what they are: hobbies. I’m not going to be taking things too seriously or…
October Wrap-Up | November TBR & Plan With Me
This month, like every other month this year has flown by. I can’t believe that we’re already in November and I have Christmas presents to worry about! It’s insane. Somehow, my reading this ended up being pretty good even though I struggle through a reading slump for most of it. To get out of my reading slump, I did lots of self care and just took a break from reading then did a small readathon for myself. If you joined me in the readathon on Instagram – thanks! I hope you got lots of reading out of it; I surprisingly did. What I Read In October As I said, it…
September Wrap Up & October TBR
I don’t know whether it’s this pandemic and the immense uncertainty in the air, or just the fact that I’ve been indoors for perhaps far too long of a time – but time has been flying by and yet not. It is a very screwed up construct right now and holy macaroni – It’s OCTOBER. I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t using reading as a distraction as well as a hobby because I have. September was again, another successful reading month. I beat my personal page goal and I just feel proud of myself for enjoying what I’m reading. I didn’t DNF a single book and I thoroughly…
Underrated & Unsolicited: Exciting YA Releases I Received & Want To Read Soon
Any blogger can relate to the moment when you receive your first ARC and/or unsolicited book from a publisher. It’s a beautiful moment full of pride and a sense of accomplishment that you’re blessed enough to get a book…FOR FREE. The cons of that of course is that…they sometimes keep coming, unsolicited – without being requested, and a huge pressure begins to grow because there are already SO many books you want to get to but these JUST SHOWED UP. I remember feeling so happy yet so goddamn guilty because I wasn’t getting around to reading these beautiful books – that definitely sounded interesting but just weren’t what I was…
July Wrap Up & August TBR
And with that, July ended. Wow, this month has flown by. I thought that time would be slowing as most of us are stuck inside. I have been working from home, studying from home and doing my hobbies from home with occasional walks outside to grab a coffee down the road and buying my groceries once a week. It’s been weird. Work was super busy and I was feeling a bit stressed that I ended up taking a couple of days off, but I somehow managed to read way more than I have in any other month so far this year and that’s kind of amazing. When I haven’t been…
